Compare AI note takers
An AI note taker records your meeting, transcribes the conversation and turns it into a summary with decisions and action points. So you no longer have to take minutes yourself and can keep your attention on the conversation. Such a tool is also called an AI meeting assistant. Teams use AI minute-taking for work meetings and customer calls; healthcare providers, teachers and municipalities use it for conversation reports. Most packages work with Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet, and often also for a meeting around a table.
AI minute-taking with or without a bot?
The first choice is how the recording is made. With a tool such as Fireflies.ai or Transkriptor, a bot joins your online meeting as an extra participant. Others, such as Jamie, Scribbl and Notuly, record from your own computer or phone. Then there is no bot in the conversation. With Jamie and Notuly you can also take minutes automatically on location this way. Fathom and Otter.ai can do both.
The second choice is origin. International AI note takers often have a free version and many integrations. Dutch providers such as Notizy, RecapAI and TalkMark focus on Dutch-language conversations and on sectors such as healthcare, education and government.
What should you look out for?
- Language: check whether the tool transcribes Dutch well, including technical terms and multiple speakers, and in which language you get the AI minutes. Test this during the trial period with a meeting of your own.
- Limits: a free version or entry-level plan usually has a limit on the number of minutes, meetings or summaries per month.
- Privacy: a recording contains personal data. Tell participants that you are recording and check where the data is stored, whether the audio is kept and whether you get a data processing agreement.
- Report and integrations: check whether you can use your own templates to create minutes with AI, and whether the report goes to your CRM, calendar or documents.
